Charity Space Guide

Africans Market believes in solidarity. Our charity space lets people offer items for free to those who need them: the donor publishes a free listing, and the recipient only pays the delivery fee.

How it works

  1. The donor publishes a listing marked as charity.
  2. The recipient gets a delivery quote on the listing page, based on their country and region.
  3. Only the delivery fee is owed: the item itself stays free.

Advantages

For the donorGive your items a second life and take part in the circular economy.
For the recipientGet access to essential goods for free.

Risks to know about

  • Transport fee scams: a fake donor asks for a Mobile Money payment to "cover shipping" before any shipment, then disappears.
  • Commercial resale: someone collects a free donation and resells it.

Your golden rules

⚠ Never pay transport fees in advance

to someone you've never met. Use the delivery quote shown on the listing, and arrange your own transport.

📍 Arrange the handover in a public, safe location, during the day. The donor should be honest about the item's condition.

Bulky items

For furniture or large appliances, prefer handover on the sidewalk or in the yard rather than entering a private home, come with someone, and let a relative know the meeting address.

Any user demanding money for a donation, or reselling an item obtained through the charity space, may have their account suspended. Report any suspicious behavior to our support.
